Volunteering with the Friends

The day to day maintenance of the beds, new planting, as well as litter picking and keeping the park looking neat and tidy relies almost entirely on volunteers. 

Our work is enjoyed by an increasing number of visitors and we have been successful in transforming large areas of the park, the entrances, Rose Circle and pond area in particular.

We have multiple gardening activities suitable for all.
For those who are less into gardening, there is a  range of activities from litter picking and maintaining benches, right up to building and repairing stone walls.  In summer there is essential watering to be done.

We organise work parties at least once a week, and new joiners are always welcome.  Once established, our volunteers are also free to work on agreed areas of the park at times that suit them, giving complete flexibility.
