FUN DOG SHOW at PINNER PICNIC 2 June 2024

We are pleased to announce that we are holding our second Dog Show as part of our Pinner Picnic event on Sunday 2nd June 2024 in Pinner Village Gardens park.

Like last year we expect keen interest so please do not leave it too late to register for the Dog Show.

Registration 12noon – 2pm. Judging starts at 2.30pm

Registration will be at the Friends of Pinner Village Gardens stall (near other stalls). The show ring is near the Rose Circle’

1st, 2nd and 3rd in each category will all be awarded rosettes. Judging will again be by Fauna Vets of Northwood who are donating prizes for those awarded 1st places and treats for all dog entrants.

Entry: £5 per dog for as many categories as you wish and are eligible. £3 per dog for a single category. Any surplus funds, after the Friends event costs, go towards maintaining the park.

With the exception of the Puppy category, dogs of any age may enter the other four categories. Puppies can enter all five. There is a category specifically for young dog handlers under 16 years of age.

Dogs placed 1st and 2nd in the 5 categories will automatically be entered in the People’s Choice finale – which will no doubt produce an interesting result.

The categories are:

  • Waggiest tail : Subject to numbers entering, this may be judged in knock-out groups.
  • Best trained puppy aged under 1 year : Puppy demonstrates sit, come, and walking to heel including turn and return.
  • Best junior handler under 16 years : Young handler and dog demonstrate sit command, walking nicely on lead to heal, to turn and return.
  • Best paw shaker & dog’s own specific trick.
  • Best groomed : Well brushed, clean & tidy, good nails, no mud in ears, no fleas. (Muddy paws forgiven subject to park’s ground conditions.) Growlers will be disqualified.
  • People Choice Finale : Automatic entry for dogs placed 1st & 2nd in the 5 categories. The ten dogs will line up at the end and public will be asked to make their favourite known.

Dog on leads please – except when it is your dog’s turn to respond to command ‘sit & come’. Long leads also encouraged.

The Friends of Pinner Village Gardens are all looking forward to the Coronation Event and Picnic and hope you are too. For further information on the overall event, please see our announcement below…
